In 1982 I stopped by the playing field of Marokopa School in Northern Taranaki / Waitomo. It was a beautiful landscape with children playing in the foreground.  I immediately started photographing the kids and this is one of my best of the day.  It is also one of my favourites of all time.  A teacher came to the fence and asked if I wanted a cuppa, because it was such a novelty for a photographer to stop.  I made prints and sent them to the school.  What a wonderful time to be a photographer!  See more early Taranki below.
